Designed for those new to volunteer management or those looking for ways to enhance a current program, Foundations of Volunteer Management is a four-part virtual workshop covering foundational aspects of leading an effective healthcare volunteer program.

Participants will explore key concepts and practices central to the role of a volunteer manager including recruiting, tracking and training volunteers, building a volunteer program that meets your organization’s needs and ensuring your volunteer program is in compliance with policies and regulations.

  1. Explore options for expanding and improving volunteer programs to meet the changing needs of healthcare organizations
  2. Gain confidence and competence through a deeper understanding of what creates and sustains successful volunteer programs
  3. Connect with peers and learn from what other programs have done to maximize their volunteer program

Course information: Facilitated by Eileen McConville, MBA, CAVS, the workshop includes four two-hour virtual sessions held over four consecutive weeks with opportunities for peer to peer connection and learning. Each session is followed by a 30-minute optional question and answer period.  Attendees receive an electronic workbook as a companion to the training.
