How do I access the CPXP Prep Course?

Access details will be emailed once your registration is confirmed and payment is received. Please allow one business day for account activation.

How long will I have access to the CPXP Prep course?

The course will be accessible from the PXLearning site for one year from the date of enrollment regardless of your exam window.

Will completing the prep course guarantee that I pass the CPXP Exam?

While the CPXP Preparation Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge in the four domains of the CPXP classification system, completion of the course (as with any preparation method) does not guarantee a passing score on the CPXP Exam.

Is there a separate study guide available for the CPXP Exam?

There is no separate study guide available for purchase from The Beryl Institute. However, the CPXP Prep Course includes a list of helpful resources for exam preparation. Additionally, the CPXP Handbook provides the full classification system and a list of recommended references.

How do I join a study group?

The Credentialing Center offers a CPXP Prep Group during each exam preparation window. Once your exam application is approved, you’ll be invited to join this group, where you can connect with fellow candidates, share resources, and form study groups. Participation is included in your exam application fee.

Is the CPXP exam fee included in the cost of the prep course?

No, the CPXP exam fee is not included in the cost of the prep course. The CPXP Preparation Course is optional and separate from the exam, and completing it is not required to apply for or take the exam. To apply to take the exam, visit the Credentialing Center.

Is there a practice exam available for the CPXP Exam?

The Credentialing Center offers an online CPXP practice exam for the fee of $50. The practice exam is available to any potential CPXP exam candidate and consists of 50 multiple choice questions that reflect the 4 domains of the CPXP exam.

Do you offer a group rate for CPXP Prep?

Groups of five (5) or more from one organization can receive $50 off the corresponding member or non-member price when purchased together on one invoice. 

What is the refund policy?

Since the CPXP Prep Course includes digital materials accessible from the PXLearning site, transfers to another person and/or refunds will not be issued once you have logged into the site.

A cancelled registration may be eligible to receive a full refund less $50 for the service fee if the request is received in writing to The Beryl Institute at pxlearning@theberylinstitute.org within 14 days of registration as long as the registrant has not accessed the site. Cancellation requests received after 14 business days will not be refunded.

Can I transfer the registration to or substitute another individual from my organization?

A transfer credit for the purchased course may be granted to the organization and used by another individual within the organization if the PXLearning site has not been accessed by the original registrant. Substitutions are not allowed once the site has been accessed.

What is PX 101?

PX 101 is a flexible, facilitator-led learning program designed to help healthcare organizations build a shared foundation for patient experience excellence across the workforce. Through seven learning sessions, practical tools, and reinforcement resources, PX 101 helps establish a common language around patient experience while developing foundational knowledge, skills, and awareness that support positive experiences for patients, families, care partners, colleagues, and communities.

Who is PX 101 for?

PX 101 is designed for healthcare organizations seeking to build a shared foundation for patient experience excellence across the workforce. The program can be used with clinical and non-clinical team members, leaders, volunteers, and support staff in a variety of healthcare settings. It is appropriate for both new and experienced team members.

Who developed PX 101?

PX 101 was developed by The Beryl Institute with input from the patient experience community and guidance from subject matter experts. The program is grounded in adult learning principles and designed to provide practical, engaging learning that can be applied in everyday healthcare settings.

What's included in PX 101?

PX 101 includes approximately 3.5 hours of facilitator-led learning and a comprehensive set of resources designed to support implementation and ongoing reinforcement. Organizations can adapt the program to align with their culture, priorities, and workforce development goals.

What are the customization capabilities of PX 101?

One of the strengths of PX 101 is its flexibility and adaptability. Organizations may customize the PowerPoint presentations and Word documents to reflect their branding, culture, language, service standards, organizational priorities, patient experience goals, care settings, and team needs.

While the included scenario videos cannot be modified, organizations may use locally developed scenarios or scripts to make the learning more relevant to their teams. For example, facilitators can invite participants to act out situations that reflect the challenges they encounter in their daily work.

Can the content be integrated into a learning management system (LMS)?

PX 101 is designed as a facilitator-led learning experience rather than a self-paced online course. While the materials are provided in formats such as PowerPoint, Word, and PDF files that can be uploaded to an LMS, they are not designed as plug-and-play e-learning modules and may require additional development for online delivery.

Can PX 101 be used by consultants, trainers, or educational providers?

PX 101 is intended for use by healthcare organizations to educate and develop their own workforce. The materials may not be repackaged, resold, licensed, or incorporated into consulting services, training programs, educational offerings, or other fee-based activities without prior written permission from The Beryl Institute.

Who is best suited to facilitate PX 101?

PX 101 can be facilitated by leaders, educators, patient experience professionals, volunteer services professionals, or other team members with basic facilitation skills and an understanding of the organization's patient experience goals. The toolkit includes presentation materials with embedded facilitator notes to support consistent and engaging delivery.

Does the purchase of PX 101 include implementation or train-the-trainer support?

To support successful implementation, The Beryl Institute includes a complimentary 30-minute implementation consultation. This session helps organizations prepare for delivery, explore implementation options, and answer questions about the program and its resources.

Does PX 101 offer Patient Experience Continuing Education Credits (PXEs)?

No. PX 101 does not offer PXE credit directly because organizations customize and deliver the program independently. However, organizations may be eligible to apply for PXE credit approval through The Beryl Institute Credentialing Center. Eligibility requirements and fees apply.

What is the refund policy for PX 101?

PX 101 is a digital toolkit that provides access to downloadable resources through the PXLearning platform. Because digital materials are immediately accessible, refunds are not available once the toolkit has been accessed.

Organizations may request a refund, less a 5% service fee, within 14 days of purchase by contacting pxu@theberylinstitute.org, provided the toolkit has not been accessed. Refund requests received after 14 days are not eligible for reimbursement.
