Fellow in Human Experience (FHX)

After completing the Certificate of Patient Experience Leadership, distinguish yourself as a leading practitioner in the field of patient and human experience.

Achieving the Fellow in Human Experience establishes you as a healthcare leader committed to bringing experience innovation into practice. Grounded in experience fundamentals and guided by a commitment to collaboration, Fellows contribute to broadening experience knowledge and expanding the foundation of evidence that guides experience efforts.

Built on the foundational learning in the Patient Experience Body of Knowledge, after completing the Certificate of Patient Experience Leadership, candidates complete a year-long capstone project in which they address a specific issue in their organization or test a hypothesis focused on driving improvement. We invite you to join us as a Fellow in Human Experience and take the next step in transforming the human experience in healthcare.

Completion of the Fellow in Human Experience capstone program.

The capstone program is a year-long project in which fellow candidates identify an experience issue they look to address in their organization. The project year is supported by a series of five coaching meetings with a member of the Institute fellows team to include a project setting meeting, a series of coaching calls, one every three months, and a final report prep call. Current fellow candidates are also connected in a network to support and provide feedback to one another in the process.

Once the project is complete there are two final steps. The first is a final presentation on your project to be delivered to a panel of industry leaders and your Institute coaches. The second is the completion of a deliverable on your project in the form of a research report or potential webinar via the Institute. As applicable, fellow candidates may also be encouraged to write up their project as a potential submission for Patient Experience Journal.

A full program checklist for the capstone program can be found here.
