In this webinar, Will Bynum, M.D., a shame researcher and family medicine physician, returns to The Beryl Institute to continue the shame conversation. He will be joined by Kara Lyven, Executive Director of Patient Safety at Duke University Hospital, for a look at patient safety in the context of shame. They will share their collaborative effort to align the constructs of shame in healthcare with the basic tenets of patient safety and supporting a just culture. The presenters will explain how leaders can look at safety events through different lenses to support individual well-being by recognizing a shame response. Further, attendees will learn how to optimize team member engagement in system and process design.
