Engaging Patients With Effective Communication

Patients not only want to be treated by clinicians and staff who are technically competent; they also want to be engaged using effective communication which enables them to be partners in their health care. The focus of this study was to determine if and how enhanced communication can increase patient engagement in the medical practice setting. This report is based on research conducted at Lehigh Valley Physician Group in Allentown, PA.
