The backbone of our organization, turning vision into action.

December 2024

Meet Stacy Palmer, a devoted mom, passionate volunteer, and dedicated advocate for the foster care community. Whether she's mentoring youth, opening her home to children in need, or cheering from the sidelines, Stacy pours her heart into every role she takes on. With a love for connecting with others and a commitment to making a difference, she brings the same energy and care to her personal life, her community, and her professional endeavors.

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Rick, for 26 years, and we’ve built a life together in Colleyville, Texas, where we raised our two daughters, Maya and Luca. Maya now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her husband, Austin, while Luca is preparing to graduate from high school this May. This milestone will mark the end of my decade-long journey as a “cheer mom”—a role that’s been equal parts thrilling, rewarding, and exhausting! With competitive cheer seasons behind me, I’m excited to explore new ways to fill my weekends.

If volunteering counts as a hobby, it’s one I’ve wholeheartedly embraced. For almost 15 years, I’ve been involved in weekly K-3 programming at our church, an experience that has been deeply fulfilling and continually enlightening. I’m also a longtime mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and have had the privilege of guiding and supporting my “little brother” since he was in 2nd grade. Now a high school senior, it’s been amazing to see the remarkable person he is today.

Another cause close to my heart is supporting the foster care community. A few years ago, Rick and I felt called to become foster parents—a decision that has enriched our lives in ways we never imagined. Opening our home to children, even for a short time, has been an incredible blessing, and we’ve been inspired by the dedication of agency workers and the strong sense of fellowship among other foster parents.

When I’m not working or volunteering, you’ll likely find me enjoying a walk with our two lovable rescue dogs, Oliver and Kenzie, or indulging in my passion for Pilates. I challenge myself to six classes a week at a local studio, where I’m always striving to grow stronger and master new skills. It’s a practice that keeps me grounded, energized, and ready for whatever comes next.

About the Spotlight Series:

You know our faces. You know our names and roles. But do you know about our passions outside of The Beryl Institute? Probably not, so we'd like to change that.

Welcome to The Spotlight Series, a monthly series highlighting the team members of The Beryl Institute. Each month, one member of our team will share interesting facts about their life outside the Institute. It is said The Beryl Institute is like "family," and we aim to expand on this sentiment through greater insight into the human beings behind our Institute titles. We hope you enjoy connecting with us in this way. May the power of connection bring us closer together as a community.
