In this session of the New Existence Webinar Series we will explore two aims in the Policy & Systemic Issues segment of The New Existence: Hardwire Human Partnership in the Healthcare Ecosystem and Research, Measure and Dismantle the Structures and Systems that Lead to Disparities. The Policy & Systemic Issues segment calls on us to “advocate for equitable institutional, governmental and payor policies, incentives and funding to drive positive change.”

The main actions under “Hardwire Human Partnership” that will be explored include: Elevate the expertise of patients and the patient’s circle of support. Engage patients, families, healthcare professionals and communities in advocacy. Remove barriers to accessing care.

The main actions under “Research, Measure and Dismantle the Structures and Systems that Lead to Disparities” that will be explored include: Identify where inequity and bias exist within current policies and processes. Examine the data to understand the disparities that influence experience and outcomes. Dismantle policies and practices that deliver inequitable outcomes. Deploy practices that ensure equitable health outcomes.
