PX Pulse: Consumer Perspectives on Patient Experience in the U.S. – January 2023

This issue reveals a bounce back of consumer perspectives on the quality of healthcare in America. Key findings include:
- Consumer perception on quality and experience rebounds in Q4 with 46% of respondents rating the quality of their care as “Good” or “Very good,” up 6 point from Q3. Rating for their overall care experience also saw an uptick from last quarter.
- Cost and affordability remain important issues to consumers, with the top three most important issues to respondents being affordable insurance options, out-of-pocket costs and the cost of insurance premiums.
- The importance of experience remains high at 95% with consumers noting that good experience contributes to healing and better outcomes.
- Consumer comfort in seeking care decreased from last quarter with specialty providers seeing the greatest drop.
