WMTY.world Monthly Meeting (June 18, 2025)

2pm UTC / 10am ET / 9am CT / 8am MT / 7am PT – WMTY.world monthly meetings are a space for exchanging experiences, connecting with others, and exploring the art of asking, listening, and doing what really matters to people. Join the conversation to share stories, celebrate successes, and learn from challenges as we work together to bring the spirit of “What Matters to You?” into health and social care settings.
Community outreach is a crucial early step in building patient-centered care. Simple conversation starters like “What Matters to You?” help us understand a community’s strengths and barriers, and lead to the development of programs and services that meet real needs. During this meeting, the UPMC Wellness Center’s Tiffany Belculfine, Jessica Carlson, and Gina Johnston will discuss how their department uses “What matters to you?” to shape services for patients, build wellness for communities, and spark joy for employees long before the bedside point of care.
About the Speakers:
Jessica Carlson is a nurse and Director of the UPMC Innovation Center where she partners with clinical and non-clinical teams to improve patient and employee experiences. With over 15 years of nursing and leadership experience, Jess and her teams have used WMTY in multiple care settings, with students, and most recently with community members.
Gina Johnston is an educator and project coordinator with the AMD3 Foundation, where she partners with the Wellness Center for Bone and Joint Health and the UPMC Innovation Center to support community-centered health education. With a background in English education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, Gina brings a learner-focused approach to public health, asking community members “What matters to you?” to guide the development of meaningful, relevant programming. She travels throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area, offering interactive education and providing bone and joint health screenings to individuals who may otherwise lack access. Gina is passionate about making health education accessible, engaging, and rooted in the needs of the communities she serves.
Tiffany Belculfine, PA-C, attended Geneva College and Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is a physician assistant and currently serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the Wellness Center for Bone and Joint Health at Magee-Womens Hospital. She has a wide array of medical experience across various fields. She spent several years running a wellness clinic for breast cancer patients and is excited to bring a new level of wellness to her current patients. She loves to connect with people and enjoys using “what matters” to create individualized approaches to medical care to suit any patient’s needs. She has a passion for education, both at the clinical and community levels, and enjoys opportunities for outreach.
