A Quality Improvement Project for the Resident Communication Assessment Program (ReCAP)
In this report, the Resident Communication Assessment Program (ReCAP) aims to provide resident physicians with individualized feedback on their communication skills through volunteer-facilitated patient interviews. As the program expanded in 2017-18, a shift in the volunteer recruitment model led to a decline in volunteer attendance, and consequently, the number of surveys collected fell. This Quality Improvement (QI) project seeks to address these challenges by using the “4 box A3” improvement methodology to identify root causes and develop targeted solutions.
