The Patient Advocacy Workgroup of the Institute's Community Council continues to strengthen the role of patient advocates as catalysts for organizational learning and trust. Recent discussions centered on equipping patient relations teams with foundational skills while supporting their well-being through strategies focused on burnout prevention, psychological safety, and active listening.
The community is exploring onboarding resources for new advocates and advancing the concept of Trust Recovery, reframing traditional service recovery as an opportunity to rebuild confidence and relationships. Members are actively seeking collaborators for a future webinar or conference session focused on this emerging topic.
