National Volunteer Services Benchmarking Report

The National Volunteer Services Benchmarking Report offers one of the most comprehensive looks at the current state of volunteer programs across healthcare organizations. Drawing on a wide range of voices, the report provides a holistic view of how volunteer programs are structured and how they continue to evolve.

What distinguishes this report is that it functions as a dynamic, continuously evolving data repository. Users can filter and tailor the information to meet their specific needs, making it the first resource of its kind developed specifically for our community.

It explores key dimensions such as organizational demographics, department structure and staffing, volunteer management models, and recruitment strategies. Beyond operations, the report also examines staff and team development, approaches to program evaluation, and how leaders are planning for the future in an ever-changing environment. A dedicated focus is also given to hospice services, recognizing the unique role and considerations within this specialized area of care.
